Farooq to contest for RS

Jammu Nov. 7. The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, today announced that he would contest the Rajya Sabha elections from the State, and the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president, Ghulam Nabi Azad, said his party would support his candidature.

Dr. Abdullah said he would not join the Union Council of Ministers. Mr. Azad said he is one of the two Congress candidates. He will file his nomination papers tomorrow. The Congress has allocated the fourth seat to the PDP.
