Police said that two men entered the house of Satyanarayana, a pharmaceutical distributor, on 8th Main, 1st cross, Manjunathanagar, a few minutes after he left for office. They told Nagalakshmi, wife of Mr. Satyanarayana, that they had come to buy medicines. As they had come three days ago and also telephoned her husband on Thursday, she did not suspect them. She led them to the godown on the first floor of the house. As she came down with them, she noticed that two more men had arrived. On being questioned, they told her that they had come from the cable operator's office. Immediately, the two men who had come first gagged her, tied her hands and legs, and relieved her of four gold bangles, two rings, and the mangalasutra. They also took Rs. 15,000 kept in the cupboard. Ms. Nagalakshmi, who was in a state of a shock, has been admitted to a hospital. Eye-witnesses said that the robbers carried out their job so meticulously that it did not arouse suspicion of even Ramalakshmamma (90), mother of Mr. Satyanarayana, who was sitting outside. Neighbours and the people walking on the road near the house too did not get any hint of what was going on there. Their job over, the robbers simply walked off, it is said. Police pressed the dog squad into service. Senior police officers and fingerprint experts visited the spot.
