Protest against police lathicharge on students

Pondicherry Sept. 6. A group of volunteers of the All India Youth and Students Federations today staged a demonstration at Pattanikadai junction here to condemn the police lathicharge on students in Kerala and also in Melur in Tamil Nadu when they exercised their democratic rights.

The Kerala students protested against the hike in power tariff and the State Government unleashed police action against the students` freedom to air their views.
