Over 2 lakh I-T returns received

CHENNAI Aug. 9 . The `Aayakar Bhavan', housing the main Income Tax office at Nungambakkam, was bustling with activity today, being the last date for filing of IT returns for salaried category for the period from April 2002 to till date.

And senior officials, who sweated it out, under the stewardship of the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, R.P. Rajamani, ended the day, receiving as many as 2,40,300 returns till 6 p.m.
