By Our Staff Reporter
Inaugurating the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) installed at the University of Kerala, at a function held in the Senate Chamber here this afternoon, he observed that the emergence of the IT had brought about drastic changes in the traditional academic system. However, these changes could not be welcomed whole-heartedly, he said. The IVRS would be extended to all the Information Centres of the university soon, said the Vice- Chancellor, B. Ekbal, who presided over the function. The endeavour would be to take the university to greater heights, making use of the possibilities of the IT, he added. The Pro Vice-Chancellor, S. Kevin, the Syndicate members, V. Thankamony and K.N .Balagopal, the Registrar of the university, D. Jayadevadas, and the director of the university computer centre, A. Ajayakumar, were also present. All academic information relating to the university would be made available over telephone (0471 305801) making use of computers, through the IVRS.
