Case registered against Tamaraikani

CHENNAI Aug. 1. The police have registered a case against former Sriperumbudur AIADMK MLA, R. Tamaraikani, who is in the DMK, on charges of making defamatory remarks against the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa.

Mr. Tamaraikani had participated in a DMK public meeting at T.Nagar on Wednesday evening to condemn the removal of M.K.Stalin from the post of Chennai Mayor.

The Mambalam police have registered a case under IPC Sections 294 B (obscene speech) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
