Rich haul of IMFL

SALEM Aug. 1. The City Police seized large quantities of IMFL bottles being smuggled from Bangalore to Kerala on Wednesday night.

In this connection, one person has been taken into custody.

Addressing a press conference here, the Deputy Commissioners of Police, K. C. Mahali, and S.V.Govindarjulu, said as per the direction of the DIG of Police, Tamilselvan, the police personnel carried out thorough vehicle checks at a place called Kurankuchavadi here.

During the checking, the police found a sack in the side luggage holder of a bus, going towards Kerala from Bangalore.

On opening, police found a total of 600 IMFL bottles of 750 ml capacity. The value of the liquor was estimated at Rs 60,000.

A case had been registered under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.
