A 16-year-old girl from Thrissur, who was reportedly being used by the gang for flesh trade and shooting of blue movies, was rescued by the police from Vasantha Mahal Hotel, Thopumpady, following a raid. Police suspect that the teenageg girl has been exploited for over a year by over 300 men, at several places in Kerala. They include a film producer and those engaged in serial production. Some of the incidents were shot and the police recovered cassettes and CDs (commonly known as `Kannaki') containing the scenes, from a few video shops in the district. Some of the cassettes were exported. The raid and arrests were conducted by a police team led by the Assistant Commissioner (Mattancherry), P. Vijayan. The blue movies were reportedly shot at two hotels in Fort Kochi. The girl is said to have been employed as a home nurse by a Chavakkad-based firm after her parents split up following discord. She has two sisters. She got acquainted with Hameed, an auto driver of Kozhikode, while she was employed in the house of a businessman there. He is the person who sexually exploited her and sold her to 40 other men, within a span of a few days. The victim was later sold to Murali of Kochi, for Rs. 10,000. Murali sold her to Sibily of Pulikkanat, Aroor, who was arrested today. The other accused are Shaheer of Manakkal, Fort Kochi; Nazar of Chullikal; Santhosh of Eroor and Unnikrishnan of Kumbalangi. Dolly of Fort Kochi, who used to act in the blue movies, is yet to be arrested.
