Senior IAS officers reshuffled

NEW DELHI AUG. 1. A. M. Nimbalkar will be the new Secretary, Department of Defence Production and Supplies. Till now Special Secretary in the Home Ministry, Mr. Nimbalkar belongs to the 1967 batch of the Maharashtra cadre of the IAS.

His place in the North Block will be taken by R.C.A. Jain, a 1968 batch officer of the Bihar cadre, who is at present the Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation. N.L. Lakhanpal from 1967 batch of the Maharashtra cadre has been appointed Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat in the Home Ministry.

A. K. Goswami will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources. He belongs to the 1966 batch of the Himachal Pradesh cadre and is presently posted as Secretary, Department of Drinking Water Supply.

D.K. Biswas of the 1967 batch of the West Bengal cadre has been shifted from the Department of Animal Husbandry to the Department of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation as Secretary. His place will be taken by his batchmate from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Binoo Sen.

S. S. Meenakshisundaram of the 1968 batch of the Karnataka cadre has been appointed Secretary, Department of Drinking Water Supply. He will move from his present posting in the Department of Space. Jai Singh Gill (Punjab, 1968) has been appointed Director-General CAPART
