Bajaj Auto sales up in July

MUMBAI AUG. 1. Bajaj Auto has announced a 5.7 per cent increase in two and three wheeler sales at 1.14 lakh units during July against 1.07 lakh vehicles in the same period last year. Total two wheeler sales were up 5 per cent at 97,675 units (92,999 units) while motorcycles sales moved up by 20 per cent to 61,485 units (51,150 units). However, this is against a higher sales of motorcycles in June 2002 which rose by 92 per cent to 68,361 units. Three wheeler sales stood at 16,353 units (14,921 units).

Exports of both two and three wheelers were up 58 per cent at 6189 units (3,914 units). Total sales in April-July rose by 15 per cent to 4.84 lakh units (4.20 lakh units).
