Wockhardt Heart Hospital in Mumbai

MUMBAI AUG. 1. Wockhardt Hospitals has commissioned a world-class hospital in Mumbai. Wockhardt Heart Hospital is part of an alliance with Harvard Medical International (HMI) of the U.S., which has provided professional and technical advice.

Habil Khorakiwala, chairman, Wockhardt Hospital, said, "Our vision is to build world-class hospitals in India that will provide professional treatment while addressing the unmet needs of the community. Our alliance with HMI will go a long way in converting this vision into a reality".

Wockhardt Heart Hospital will cater to the needs of citizens of Thane, Mulund, Ghatkopar, Powai, Dombivali, Kalyan and New Mumbai. The 222-bedded hospital has quality control systems and protocols laid down by HMI in clinical practice, infection control, waste disposal, hygiene, management of premises and equipment. Also, Wockhardt Heart Hospital's senior staff underwent training at Harvard's facilities in Boston.

The hospital has eminent and most experienced interventional cardiologists like Dr. Jamshed Dalal, Dr. Anil Sharma and Dr. Suresh Vijan and internationally acclaimed cardiothoracic surgeons, Dr. Kaushal Pandey and Dr. Shantesh Kaushik. The hospital would provide treatment at an affordable cost and a CABG (heart surgery) would cost Rs. 1.20 lakhs and an angioplasty would cost Rs. 85,000 in multi-bed category.
