Deshmukh expands team

By Mahesh Vijapurkar

MUMBAI July 16. The Maharashtra Ministry was expanded today, with two Independents and members of two minor parties being inducted, in a bid to provide the much-needed stability to the Vilasrao Deshmukh Government, rocked by defections.

Of the four, Sanjay Deshmukh, Independent and Dharmaram Baba Atram, who leads the single-person Gondwana Ganatantra Paksh, had actually voted with the BJP-Sena Opposition against the Deshmukh Government.

The other two, Digambar Bagal (Independent) and Ramdas Bodke (Bahujan Mahasang-RPI), had voted in favour of the Government. With this, the strength of the Ministerial team has gone up to 58.
