According to information reaching here on Tuesday, Chiranjeev, playing at the Gullane No. 1 course, had a good chance of making it to the Open after an opening round of 68. But his second round put paid to all his efforts. The Gullane No. 1 was one of the four courses hosting the qualifiers. As many as 384 players were chasing 24 spots on the first round draw of the Open. The top six were selected from each of the four courses.
