Briefing newspersons here this evening, Mr. Koya said that the FIDE was yet to decide on the format of the event but all details in this regard would be available within a week. National champion and Super GM Krishnan Sasikiran, India's youngest ever GM Pentyala Harikrishna and World junior champion, Koneru Humpy will be the special entries of host in the mega event. The other Indians in the fray include India's first Woman Grandmaster Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi, Aarthie Ramaswamy, Swathi Ghate to ensure the World Cup witness the biggest ever challenge from India in a such a major event which would also feature the former FIDE world champion and defending World Cup champion, Viswanathan Anand. Gary Kasparov is a doubtful starter for the event as he has some problems back home. Vladimir Kramnik is yet to be approached but the AICF is confident that he will play here. The AICF secretary said that the initial budget for the event was about Rs.2.75 to Rs.3 crores and it might go upto Rs. 5 crores as a major chunk would be spent on publicity. The Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, whom Mr. Koya met this evening, will be the chairman of the organising committee. The total prize mone at stake in this World Cup is $ 280,000 and the break-up for the winners and other places will be announced soon, Mr. N.Srinivasan, president of AICF and vice-chairman and managing director of India Cements, said. He thanked the Chief Minister for his support in hosting the World Cup here. "We are also particularly happy for the excellent cooperation extended by Mr.L.V.Subrahmanyam, vice-chairman and managing director of SAAP, '' he added. In a welcome gesture, Mr. Srinivasan announced that the family members of Mekhala Abhinav, the former Asian under-10 champion who died in a road accident alongwith four others, would be presented Rs.1 lakh at a function later. Mr. Koya also announced that the Russian GM Alexander Lissenko would conduct a two-month intensive training camp, sponsored by the State Government, for the leading players of Andhra (most likely in Eluru). "This camp is primarily for those youngsters who have qualified for the Asian and the World championships,'' Mr. Subrahmanyam clarified. "India will bid to host the 2003 Unification Cycle if our champion player Anand is included in the fray,'' Mr.Koya announced. The list of players released by the AICF for the tournament: Men: Gary Kasparov, Vladimir Kramnik, J.Robert Fischer, Viswanathan Anand, Alexander Morozevich, Michael Adams, Veselin Topalov, Ponomariov, Gata Kamsky, Vassily Ivanchuk, Alexei Shirov, Peter Leko, Boris Gelfand, Evgeny Bareev, Ilia Smirin, Loek Van Wely, Rustam Kasimdzhanov, Anatoly Karpov, Peter Svidler and Alexander Khalifman. Women: Judit Polgar, Jun Xie, Koneru Humpy, Maya Chiburdanidze, Alisa Galliamova, Pia Cramling, Chen Zun, Lei Wang, Almira Skripchekno Lautier, Nana Ioseliani, Pin Wang, Corina Peptan, Yuhua Xu, Kanying Qin, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Sofia Polgar, Ekaterina Kovalevskaya, Zhaoqin Peng, Ketino Kachiani and Viktorja Cmilyte.
