Mr. Krishna said that he would place details at the meeting. The Leader of the Opposition, Jagdish Shettar, and the Janata Dal (U) Floor Leader, P.G.R. Sindhia, raised the issue relating to the release of 16,000 cusecs of water from the reservoir as reported in a section of the Press today. Tamil Nadu has appealed to the Supreme Court to direct the State to release three tmcft water from the reservoir into Mettur Dam to save its standing paddy crop. The Opposition said the release of water from the reservoir would affect farmers in Mysore and Chamarajanagar districts and sought the Government's statement on this.
