BANGALORE July 16. The Chief Minister, S.M.Krishna, has convened an all-party meeting on Wednesday to discuss the release of water from the Kabini Reservoir to Tamil Nadu. Mr. Krishna made this announcement in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday in response to a matter raised by the Opposition members during Zero Hour.

Mr. Krishna said that he would place details at the meeting. The Leader of the Opposition, Jagdish Shettar, and the Janata Dal (U) Floor Leader, P.G.R. Sindhia, raised the issue relating to the release of 16,000 cusecs of water from the reservoir as reported in a section of the Press today.

Tamil Nadu has appealed to the Supreme Court to direct the State to release three tmcft water from the reservoir into Mettur Dam to save its standing paddy crop.

The Opposition said the release of water from the reservoir would affect farmers in Mysore and Chamarajanagar districts and sought the Government's statement on this.
