Reacting to reports in a section of the press on the use of fake way bills, Mr. Kumar directed deputy commissioners concerned to have a thorough verification and strict vigilance on usage of the bills, a press release said here. He asked the commissioners to keep a tab on the missing bills, cross verify and increase checking of way bills through mobile squads.
ST consultants' meet
The A.P. State Sales Tax Practitioners and Consultants Association is organising a Statewide meeting of its members here on Friday to protest against the recent amendment to the APGST Act which states that those with turnover of above Rs. 40 lakhs should provide audit certificates from registered chartered accountants only. The members would submit a memorandum to the Minister concerned to make sales tax consultants eligible for the audit work, according to a press release. The meeting is expected to discuss changes and modifications to sales tax laws.
