Law Association members stage protest

CHENNAI JULY 4. Members of the Law Association at the Small Causes Court complex here today observed a `protest day', demanding withdrawal of amendments to the Civil Procedure Code (CPC). They attended court proceedings wearing black badges.

According to the Association president, J. Rajendra Prasad, a resolution to this effect was adopted at an extraordinary general body meeting held on Wednesday.

The Association has called for fresh and comprehensive discussion to rectify certain flaws in the amended version of the CPC.

Till then the amended Code should be kept in abeyance, it added.
