New road for Mansarovar

Dehra Dun July 4. A 75-km motor route will be built between Dharchula in Kumaon and Mansarovar by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), according to the BRO commander, J.K. Narang.

Col. Narang who met the Chief Minister, N.D. Tiwari, here on Wednesday, said the route would facilitate the pilgrims who go on the `Kailash Mansarovar yatra' every year beginning on June 1. He appealed to the Chief Minister to resolve the issues, which were delaying the construction of roads due to the Forests Act.

Mr. Tiwari wanted the organisation to put up more signboards on the routes in cooperation with the Government. He also called upon the BRO to help check the accidents taking place on the pilgrim routes.
