Kumbh mela in August next year

Nasik July 4. The dates for `shahi snan' (royal bath) during the Kumbh mela in 2003 to be held at Triambakeshwar, about 29 km from here, have been announced. The first bath will take place on August 12 while the second and the third on August 27 and September 7 next, Swami Sagaranand and Mahant Govindananda Bramhachari said on Wednesday.

Earlier, addressing the meeting of 24 mahants of various `akharas', 32 officials from 19 government departments and representatives of Triambakeshwar municipal council, the district collector, Kishore Gajbhiye, said the problems of various `akharas' would be resolved. He warned the officials of "stern action" if they were found guilty of negligence in their duties undertaken for the coming mela.
