As many as 140 out of the 156 Al-Umma militants, accused in the Coimbatore Serial blast case, were produced before the court today. Even as the judge was questioning the prosecution and the jail authorities for the delay in producing the accused, the then general secretary of Al-Umma and the present `Amir' (leader), Md.Ansari alleged that the court was not functioning "within the legal framework'' and started casting doubts on the prospects of a "fair trial''. The judge adjourned the proceedings to July 9.
