CM wants land acquisition completed by July 12

HYDERABAD July 4. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, directed the Collectors of Nellore, Prakasam, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East and West Godavari districts to complete the land acquisition for the Itchapuram-Tada National Highway V by July 12.

In a teleconference with them here on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said the compensation for the highway which was part of the Golden Quadrilateral project should be paid to the remaining land owners since only 62.1 km of the 120.3 km was paid so far.

The Prakasam Collector, Karikalvalevan, was told to make the payments immediately, a press release from the CM's office said. The Nellore Collector, Anantaramu, said out of 171 km, 121.41 km was handed over. With regard to the Somasila project, the Chief Minister directed him to closely monitor the development everyday and complete the contour levels by September.

The West Godavari Collector, Poonam Malakondaiah, said 71 km of length would be handed over by July 15, while the East Godavari Collector, Jawahar Reddy, said land access of 93 km was provided and works were in progress for 42.5 km.

Compensation would be completed by July.
