Left to observe March 6 as 'National Unity Day'

NEW DELHI, FEB. 28. Concerned over the VHP-sponsored work on Ram Temple construction at Ayodhya, the Left parties today demanded the Government clamp prohibitory orders and take steps to prevent mobilisation of people there.

The Left parties warned that since Uttar Pradesh did not have an elected government at present it was incumbent upon the Centre to take effective measures and provide all help to them, the General Secretaries of the CPI, the CPI(M), the RSP and the AIFB said.The Left parties also decided to observe March 6 as `Day for National Unity'.
