MLA's murder: CBI seeks nod to close case

SIRSI, DEC. 11. The CBI has sought permission to close the investigation into the April 10, 1996 murder of the Bhatkal MLA, Chittaranjan.

The final report submitted by the CBI Inspector, Mr. S. Jayaram, to the Judicial Magistrate, Bhatkal, last Thursday, said the case should be treated as ``undetected''.

The CBI questioned 261 persons during the course of the investigation.
