Manmohan Singh operated upon

NEW DELHI, DEC. 13. The leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Manmohan Singh, has been operated upon his right eye for a tear in the retina. He has been advised bed rest for four weeks and is not allowed to read. He will be out of action for more than a month.

Mr. Singh, a senior member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), was visited at his residence by a number of CWC colleagues and AICC functionaries.
