Navodaya school in city to be set up
By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 25. A full-fledged Navodaya school will
shortly be set up on a 25-acre expanse in Thiruvananthapuram.
A pressnote from the office of the Speaker, Mr. M. Vijayakumar,
said that admission to the first batch of students to the sixth
class would commence soon. Admission is on the basis of an
entrance test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary
Education.
The classes would temporarily be held at the Government Girl's
High School in Pettah until the building establishment is ready.
Each batch would consist of 80 students.
A special aspect of the school is that the management committee
takes care of all educational expenses of students from
economically weaker sections from their sixth to the 12th class.
