Advocates to take Law Day pledge

NEW DELHI, NOV. 25. The nation will celebrate Law Day tomorrow to mark the adoption of the Constitution 51 years ago on November 26, 1949. It came into force on January 26, 1950.

The Law Day awards-2000 announced by the Indian Council of Jurists to seven eminent persons from different fields of law will be presented. At a function in the Supreme Court advocates will take a pledge of the Law Day charter to affirm the independence and impartiality of the judiciary.
