Yasin Malik hospitalised

NEW DELHI, APRIL. 25. The senior Hurriyat Conference leader and chief of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Mr. Yasin Malik, was today shifted to a private hospital from the Tihar Jail after he complained of uneasiness and pain in his chest.

Mr. Yasin Malik was among the Hurriyat leaders who were shifted from Jodhpur Jail to the Tihar Jail. Sources in the Hurriyat Conference said nobody was allowed to meet Mr. Malik in the hospital where he has been kept under tight security as he still continued to be under detention under the Public Safety Act. Sources said that he was undergoing routine medical tests at the hospital.

Other Hurriyat leaders who were shifted to Tihar Jail from the Jodhpur Jail include Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mr. Ghulam Mohammed Fankar, Mr. Abdul Ahad Dentho and Mr. Abdul Ahad Waza.

Though the Centre has indicated it is ready to hold talks with the Hurriyat leaders but they are insisting on a formal offer for talks before giving any reaction.

Sources said another Hurriyat leader Mr. Ghulam Nabi Hubbi of People's Conference was released last night from the Udhampur Jail in Jammu region. Sources indicated that yet another senior Hurriyat leader, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Sumzi of Muslim Conference would be released soon.
