Pilot killed in MiG crash
FATEHGARH SAHIB, APRIL 25. An Indian Air Force MiG-23 today
crashed at Bhirdhar village in Patiala district of Punjab killing
the pilot, who did a last minute manoeuvring to avoid hitting a
cluster of houses, police said here.
Flight commander Rajkumar took off from Halwara airbase near
Ludhiana and the aircraft caught fire within 25 minutes before
crashing. An eyewitness, who saw the plane in flames and chased
it on his scooter, said that he saw the pilot manoeuvre the
plane.
